HOME PRINTER
Home printer with fabric wrap (Tango “C” proposal) – comes in fabric, felt, bamboo, terrazzo, and other interchangeable wrap options. Prototype shown has built-in printer mechanism and status lighting. Note that this printer has a front-in, front-out “C” paper-path versus the Tango X printer with an “L” paper-path… Thanks to Kelli Dexheimer for CMF input and David Roland for industrial design feedback. Also Calvin Chang at Arrk Dison models, Taiwan for making sure prototype exceeded expectations.

This second model was similar, but had a dedicated output tray, also in fabric. The Thin Trays cosmetic model had a status or mood light that wrapped around the entire printer. Model by Dan Dwyer with input/help from Alden Koh (ID), and David Roland (mgmt).

I also looked at a foldable output tray that made a smaller footprint if needed. Quick animation below (from Maya).

This concept proposal had a smaller print body with easily interchangeable media trays. The media trays could be made from molded pulp to be more recyclable. The trays also were stackable and protected your media. Concept by Dan Dwyer with input from Chris Rives (UX) and others, Cecilee Peterson (ID) created different print display accessories and helped with the ink containers.
